Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned Director of Housekeeping to lead the housekeeping and laundry operations at one of New England’s most prestigious coastal destinations. As a Forbes Five-Star property, our standards are uncompromising. We don't just clean rooms; we curate flawless environments. This role demands an executive leader who understands that 65% of guest satisfaction is directly tied to room cleanliness and condition. You will be the guardian of our brand’s physical presentation, ensuring every suite, public space, and linen reflects the excellence our discerning guests expect.

Responsibilities

  • Direct daily operations for Housekeeping, Laundry, and Uniform departments, ensuring strict adherence to Forbes Five-Star and AAA Four Diamond standards.
  • Conduct rigorous daily inspections of guest rooms and public areas, utilizing a data-driven approach to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Manage inventory of linens, uniforms, and cleaning supplies, maintaining par levels that support high occupancy without excess waste.
  • Oversee the resort's laundry facility operations, ensuring equipment efficiency and linen longevity.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor a team of 40+ housekeeping associates, supervisors, and managers.
  • Implement comprehensive training programs focused on luxury service protocols, safety, and efficiency.
  • Foster a culture of accountability and pride, reducing turnover by creating clear pathways for career progression.
  • Develop and manage the annual housekeeping budget, monitoring labor costs and operating expenses (CPOR) daily.
  • Analyze productivity reports to optimize scheduling, ensuring labor aligns with occupancy fluctuations.
  • Partner with the Director of Engineering to implement preventive maintenance programs that protect asset value.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive management experience in Housekeeping within a luxury hotel or resort environment.
  • Experience with Forbes or AAA audit processes is non-negotiable.
  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management or business administration preferred.
  • Proficiency in PMS (Property Management Systems) such as Opera, and housekeeping management software (e.g., HotSOS, Alice).
  • A hands-on approach. You are as comfortable inspecting a VIP suite as you are presenting P&L variance reports to ownership.

Benefits

  • Competitive base salary and bonus
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage
  • LTD, STD, and Life insurance coverage
  • Education Assistance
  • Employee Assistance Program
  • 401 (k) with matching
  • Paid Vacation
