Overview

A prestigious luxury hotel in Houston, Texas, is seeking an experienced Director of Bars to oversee its world-class bar operations. This senior leadership role is pivotal in delivering exceptional guest experiences, driving innovation in beverage programs, and ensuring operational excellence across multiple bar outlets.

The Director of Bars will lead a team of Bar Managers, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and unparalleled hospitality. This role requires a strategic thinker who can identify and implement revenue optimization strategies, address service gaps, and maintain the highest standards of guest satisfaction and profitability.

Responsibilities

• Champion a guest-centric approach, ensuring all bar operations deliver exceptional service and memorable experiences.
• Develop, implement, and continuously evolve innovative and profitable beverage programs, including cocktail menus, wine lists, beer selections, and non-alcoholic offerings.
• Achieve and exceed revenue targets while managing budgets and controlling costs (labor, inventory, supplies).
• Plan and execute promotional activities and events to drive sales and enhance guest engagement.
• Analyze sales data, inventory reports, and financial statements to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
• Stay ahead of industry trends, competitor offerings, and guest preferences to ensure beverage programs remain fresh, relevant, and competitive.
• Address guest feedback, concerns, and complaints promptly and effectively, turning challenges into opportunities for positive engagement.
• Ensure compliance with all federal and state laws, including FLSA tip regulations regarding tip reporting, sharing, and minimum wage requirements.
• Provide strong leadership and strategic direction to bar teams, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and standards.
• Oversee daily operations of all bar outlets, ensuring consistent adherence to brand standards, operational procedures, and health and safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Embody values of passion, excellence, collaboration, and integrity.
• 5-7 years of bar and beverage experience, with a strong background in luxury hospitality environments.
• Proven expertise in creating and managing innovative beverage programs.
• Previous experience in luxury hotels or Forbes-rated establishments is highly preferred.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays
