The concept operates in a major tourist corridor and is built for volume, special occasions, banquets, and memorable guest experiences. Leaders in this environment must be confident, visible, and comfortable managing large teams and busy services.
Position Summary
The Assistant General Manager is a senior leader responsible for supporting the General Manager while overseeing front of house managers and hourly teams. This role is highly guest facing and focused on service execution, team development, and operational excellence.
The AGM sets the tone for hospitality, ensures service standards are executed consistently, and helps drive sales, profitability, and team performance. This position requires a hands on leader with strong communication skills and the ability to thrive in a high energy, high volume environment.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Guest Experience
• Lead managers and hourly teams to deliver exceptional guest experiences
• Maintain a welcoming and energetic presence throughout the restaurant
• Set and reinforce service standards, hospitality expectations, and communication
• Ensure Steps of Service are executed consistently across all shifts
• Address guest concerns and resolve issues in real time
Front of House Operations
• Oversee all front of house operations including opening, mid, and closing shifts
• Manage staffing levels, floor plans, pacing, and service flow
• Ensure proper ambience, cleanliness, safety, and presentation standards
• Supervise bar operations, host stand, dining room, and guest relations
• Respond to operational issues and emergencies as they arise
Team Development and Human Resources
• Support recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding of hourly employees
• Coach, train, and develop managers and hourly team members
• Assist with scheduling, performance management, and accountability
• Enforce company policies and procedures consistently and fairly
• Promote a positive, professional, and team focused culture
Business and Financial Support
• Assist the General Manager with weekly and monthly P and L review
• Support sales growth, revenue initiatives, and banquet execution
• Partner with kitchen leadership to ensure smooth service flow
• Monitor labor, productivity, and operational efficiency
• Support marketing, community relations, and special events
Operational Standards and Compliance
• Execute and enforce all company initiatives and operational standards
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
• Maintain strong safety, sanitation, and food quality standards
• Ensure accurate execution of company systems and processes
Qualifications
• 2 to 4 years of Restaurant Manager experience in high volume casual or fine dining
• Strong hands on leadership style with a guest first mindset
• Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
• Comfortable leading large teams in fast paced environments
• Experience with POS systems, OpenTable, time and attendance systems, and Microsoft Office
• Strong judgment and ability to make sound decisions under pressure
• Reliable, professional, and team focused
• Flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays
