Hotel General Manager

Philadelphia Metro Area

Salary Range: $110,000–$120,000 + Bonus Potential


Job Overview

The Hotel General Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, performance, and operation of the hotel, ensuring exceptional guest satisfaction, strong financial results, and full compliance with brand and company standards. This role requires a hands-on, strategic leader with a proven ability to drive results across operations, revenue, and team development.


What You’ll Be Doing


Leadership & Team Development

  • Provide strong, visible leadership while fostering a positive, accountable, and service-driven culture
  • Recruit, train, coach, and lead department heads and staff
  • Establish clear performance expectations and conduct regular performance reviews
  • Drive employee engagement, retention, and teamwork


Guest Experience

  • Set and uphold high service standards across all departments
  • Actively manage guest feedback, service recovery, and reputation scores
  • Monitor guest satisfaction metrics and implement continuous improvements


Financial & Revenue Management

  • Develop and manage the annual operating and capital budgets
  • Review P&L statements and financial reports to drive profitability
  • Maximize revenue through pricing strategy, upselling, and expense controls
  • Drive GOP, flow-through, and NOI performance


Sales & Marketing Collaboration

  • Partner with Sales & Marketing to grow occupancy and revenue
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities and local partnerships
  • Support promotional initiatives and demand-generation strategies


Facilities & Asset Management

  • Collaborate with the Engineering team to maintain the physical condition of the property
  • Ensure preventive maintenance, repairs, and renovations are completed timely
  • Uphold safety, cleanliness, and brand presentation standards


Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations
  • Maintain brand and company standards at all times
  • Prepare operational and financial reports for ownership or corporate leadership


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • Several years of progressive hotel leadership experience as a General Manager or senior hotel leader
  • Proven success driving:
  • Strong financial performance (P&L accountability)
  • Guest satisfaction scores (GSS or equivalent)
  • Revenue and market share performance (STAR reports)
  • Track record of employment stability and strong leadership tenure
  • Expertise in budget creation, execution, and cost controls
  • Ability to drive GOP, flow-through, and NOI per key
  • Organized, goal-oriented, self-motivated, and results-driven
  • Professional hospitality industry references required


Working Conditions & Physical Requirements


This role involves regular physical activity including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, lifting up to 50 lbs., and navigating hotel operational environments.


Compensation & Benefits


Compensation:


  • Base salary: $110,000–$120,000
  • Bonus potential paid twice yearly
