We are seeking a visionary Director of Events to join our dynamic team and lead the planning and execution of extraordinary events that reflect the elegance and excellence of our resort.


Position Overview:

As the Director of Events, you will be the creative and strategic force behind all events hosted at our resort. From intimate beachfront weddings to large-scale corporate conferences, you will oversee every detail to ensure flawless execution and unforgettable experiences. This role requires a blend of leadership, creativity, and operational expertise to elevate our events to the highest standard of luxury and guest satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Event Strategy & Planning: Develop and execute a comprehensive events strategy that aligns with the resort’s brand, guest expectations, and revenue goals.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of event coordinators, planners, and support staff to deliver exceptional service and creativity.
  • Client Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for high-profile clients, ensuring their vision is brought to life with precision and care.
  • Vendor Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with local vendors, suppliers, and partners to ensure seamless event execution.
  • Budget Oversight: Manage event budgets, ensuring cost efficiency while maintaining the highest quality standards.
  • On-Site Coordination: Oversee all aspects of event setup, execution, and breakdown, ensuring every detail is flawless.
  • Innovation & Trends: Stay ahead of industry trends and incorporate fresh, innovative ideas to enhance the guest experience.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other resort departments, including F&B, marketing, and operations, to ensure cohesive and successful events.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Event Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of Director of Events experience in event planning or management, in a 5 Star FORBES rated property.
  • Proven track record of planning and executing high-profile events, including weddings, corporate functions, and social gatherings.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with acute attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and team members.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in event management software and tools.
  • Knowledge of Hawaiian culture, traditions, and local vendors is a plus.
