About Us

Our company is a leader in the culinary industry, known for our commitment to quality, innovation, and exceptional guest experiences. With a growing portfolio of restaurant locations, our financial operations are critical to our continued success. We are seeking an experienced Fixed Asset Manager to join our corporate team and provide strategic oversight of our company's tangible assets.

Position Summary

We are looking for a meticulous and analytical Fixed Asset Manager to oversee the complete lifecycle of our fixed assets. This role is integral to maintaining the financial integrity of our operations, from initial acquisition and capitalization to tracking, depreciation, and eventual disposal. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in asset management, a strong understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments to ensure accuracy and compliance. This position offers a significant opportunity to impact our bottom line by optimizing asset utilization and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Asset Lifecycle Management: Manage and maintain the company-wide fixed asset sub-ledger, including the recording of acquisitions, transfers, and disposals in the accounting system. This includes everything from kitchen equipment and restaurant furniture to technology hardware and leasehold improvements.
  • Financial Reporting & Compliance: Ensure all fixed asset accounting is performed in strict accordance with GAAP. Prepare and manage monthly depreciation schedules, asset roll-forwards, and reconciliation reports for the general ledger.
  • Capital Project Tracking: Collaborate with development and operations teams to monitor capital expenditure projects. Ensure project costs are accurately tracked and assets are properly capitalized upon project completion.
  • Policy & Procedure: Develop, implement, and enforce policies and procedures for fixed asset management, ensuring a standardized and efficient process across all locations.
  • Physical Audits: Plan and coordinate periodic physical inventories and audits of fixed assets at various restaurant locations to verify existence, condition, and records accuracy.
  • System Administration: Serve as the primary administrator for our fixed asset management software, ensuring data integrity and system optimization. Provide training and support to other users as needed.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with procurement, operations, IT, and maintenance departments to ensure seamless tracking and management of assets from acquisition to retirement.
  • Tax & Insurance Support: Provide necessary schedules and documentation to support property tax filings and insurance renewals.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or relevant certification is a plus.
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in accounting, with at least 3 years in a role with direct responsibility for fixed asset management.
  • Prior experience within the restaurant, retail, or hospitality industry is highly preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP as it relates to fixed assets, depreciation, and capitalization policies.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with enterprise-level ERP systems and specialized fixed asset management software (e.g., Sage FAS, BNA Fixed Assets, Oracle Fixed Assets).
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and complex formulas for data analysis and reconciliation.

Required Skills

  • Exceptional organizational skills and an unwavering attention to detail are paramount.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to resolve discrepancies and improve processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to work collaboratively with both financial and non-financial team members.
  • Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • A proactive and solution-oriented mindset focused on continuous improvement.
