About the Role

A Fixed Asset Manager oversees an organization's fixed assets to ensure accurate record-keeping, compliance, and efficient use. This role involves managing asset acquisition, tracking, depreciation, and disposal while conducting regular audits and reconciliations. By implementing effective strategies, the Fixed Asset Manager helps maximize the value and lifespan of physical assets, supporting the company’s financial and operational goals. This position works closely with finance, procurement, and operations teams to maintain accurate asset documentation and reporting. This position is located in Dallas, Texas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage fixed asset accounting processes and updates.
  • Maintain and update the fixed asset register.
  • Conduct physical inventories and reconciliations.
  • Record and monitor asset acquisitions, transfers, and disposals.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards (GAAP and IFRS).
  • Perform asset valuations and calculate depreciation.
  • Prepare and present reports for management and stakeholders.
  • Plan and budget for capital expenditures.
  • Coordinate asset tagging and tracking.
  • Handle audit requests and resolve discrepancies.
  • Implement and improve fixed asset management procedures.
  • Train staff on fixed asset policies.
  • Manage leased assets and monitor asset life cycles.
  • Negotiate with vendors for purchases or leases.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
  • CPA or CMA certification preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in fixed asset accounting or management.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and IFRS standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and fixed asset systems.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with data analysis tools.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with physical asset inventories and reconciliations.
  • Familiarity with depreciation methods and lease accounting.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
