Select Service General Manager

Location: Houston, TX

Salary: $90K - $100K + Bonus

Relocation: Negotiable



Position Overview:


We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven General Manager to lead the operations of our select-service hotel. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with a passion for hospitality, exceptional organizational skills, and a proven track record of driving guest satisfaction, team engagement, and financial performance. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the property, ensuring it operates efficiently, profitably, and in alignment with brand standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Leadership:
  • Oversee daily operations, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning across all departments, including front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, and food & beverage.
  • Maintain compliance with brand standards, local regulations, and company policies.
  • Monitor and manage property cleanliness, safety, and overall guest experience.
  • Team Management:
  • Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback to department heads and team members.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating exceptional customer service and problem-solving skills.
  • Financial Performance:
  • Develop and manage the property’s budget, ensuring revenue goals and expense controls are met or exceeded.
  • Analyze financial reports, identify trends, and implement strategies to optimize profitability.
  • Drive revenue through effective sales and marketing initiatives, including local partnerships and community engagement.
  • Guest Experience:
  • Ensure a consistently high level of guest satisfaction by addressing feedback, resolving issues promptly, and implementing service improvements.
  • Monitor online reviews and guest surveys, taking proactive steps to enhance the property’s reputation.
  • Strategic Planning:
  • Collaborate with the Regional Director of Operations to set short- and long-term goals for the property.
  • Identify opportunities for operational improvements and implement innovative solutions.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and competitor performance to maintain a competitive edge.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of General Manager experience, preferably in a select-service environment.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, analyze financial data, and drive revenue growth.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency in hotel management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
