The Opportunity


We are launching a vibrant new Mediterranean dining concept in the heart of Bethesda, MD, and we are looking for a visionary Chef de Cuisine to lead our culinary team. Your Role


As Chef de Cuisine, you will have significant autonomy. You won't just be stepping into an existing system; you will be the architect of our culinary operations. We are looking for someone who thrives on the excitement of an opening and wants the freedom to organize and set up the entire kitchen according to their professional standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Menu Development & Execution: Collaborate on and execute a compelling Mediterranean menu that highlights fresh ingredients and bold flavors. You will have the creative freedom to introduce specials and seasonal dishes that define our brand.
  • Kitchen Setup & Organization: Lead the initial setup of the kitchen, including equipment placement, station organization, and workflow design to ensure maximum efficiency during service.
  • Team Leadership: Hire, train, and mentor a high-performing back-of-house team. You will set the tone for the kitchen culture, fostering an environment of respect, discipline, and culinary excellence.
  • Operational Management: Oversee daily kitchen operations, including inventory management, food cost control, and adherence to health and safety regulations.
  • Quality Control: Ensure every dish that leaves the pass meets our high standards for taste, presentation, and consistency.


Who You Are


You are a passionate culinarian with a strong background in kitchen leadership. You understand the nuances of Mediterranean cuisine and possess the logistical mind required to open a new restaurant. You are looking for a partner who trusts your expertise and

Requirements:

  • Experience: 2–3 years of proven experience as a Chef de Cuisine or Executive Chef.
  • Culinary Knowledge: A deep understanding of Mediterranean flavor profiles, ingredients, and cooking techniques.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to manage, motivate, and develop a kitchen team.
  • Business Acumen: Experience with food costing, labor management, and inventory control.
  • Flexibility: Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, especially during the opening phase.
