Job Description

As the Area Director of Sales, you will lead sales efforts across multiple hotels in the assigned area, developing and executing strategic, proactive direct sales initiatives to maximize top-line revenue, RevPAR Index, and overall profitability. You will oversee the sales teams at each property, ensuring alignment with brand standards (Major Brand experience preferred, such as Hilton, Marriott, IHG, etc.), while leveraging synergies between properties to cross-sell opportunities, optimize business mix, and drive incremental revenue for the entire complex.

Key responsibilities include meeting or exceeding revenue goals through targeted solicitation, account development, and market penetration; collaborating on pricing and revenue management strategies; motivating, evaluating, and mentoring sales personnel; and communicating company objectives clearly. You will foster strong local market relationships, monitor competitive positioning (utilizing tools like Kalibri for profit insights and benchmarking where applicable), and maintain accurate tracking in systems such as Delphi (Delphi knowledge preferred).

This role requires an outgoing personality, exceptional people skills, attention to detail, strong organizational abilities, and in-depth knowledge of the local area and key contacts. Hotel sales experience is essential, with demonstrated success in managing high-volume, multi-property environments.

Qualifications

  • At least 3–5 years of high-volume sales management experience in hospitality, preferably with Major Brand hotels (Hilton, Marriott, IHG, etc.).
  • Proven track record managing sales teams across multiple properties simultaneously, leveraging each to benefit the overall complex through cross-selling, shared accounts, and coordinated strategies.
  • Experience with Delphi or similar sales/catering systems preferred; familiarity with Kalibri or revenue intelligence tools preferred for data-driven decision-making.
  • A genuine passion for mentoring and developing sales teams to achieve peak performance.
  • Strong ability to drive positive sales results, increase guest counts/occupancy, and build long-term client relationships.
  • Commitment to a guest-oriented philosophy, demonstrating honesty, integrity, and professionalism in all interactions.
  • Open availability, including flexibility for travel between properties, evenings, and weekends as needed.
  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Business, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
