General Manager – Full Service Restaurant | Shawnee, KS
$80,000 – $90,000 Base Salary + Bonus
An established and growing locally owned restaurant group is preparing to relocate and expand one of its successful concepts into a brand-new facility in the Shawnee area and is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead the restaurant through its next stage of growth. This role is ideal for a hands-on hospitality leader who enjoys building strong teams, maintaining high service standards, and running a well-executed operation. The restaurant already has an established following and strong foundation, and the new location will allow the business to significantly expand its volume and guest experience. The General Manager will work closely with ownership and an experienced kitchen leadership team to guide the restaurant through its next phase while building a strong culture and operational consistency.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
Leadership & Team Development
- Recruit, hire, and develop a strong front-of-house team and management staff
- Create a positive, accountable workplace culture that supports long-term retention
- Coach and mentor supervisors and shift leaders to strengthen the leadership bench
- Maintain clear communication between ownership, managers, and hourly team members
Restaurant Operations
- Oversee daily operations of a busy full-service restaurant environment
- Ensure consistent service, hospitality, and operational standards
- Lead the team through the transition to the new location and expanded space
- Maintain strong service flow during peak business periods
- Oversee bar and front-of-house operations while working closely with kitchen leadership
Financial & Business Performance
- Manage labor scheduling and productivity to meet budget goals
- Monitor key cost areas including labor, beverage, and controllable expenses
- Support marketing initiatives that drive guest traffic and repeat business
- Help grow annual sales through operational excellence and strong guest relationships
What We’re Looking For
- 2+ years of General Manager experience in a full-service restaurant
- Experience managing high-volume operations ($2M+ annual sales)
- Strong team-building and leadership skills
- Ability to lead confidently while maintaining a collaborative management style
- New restaurant opening or major expansion experience is a strong plus
- High level of professionalism, accountability, and communication
