Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a Kitchen Manager or Sous Chef in a high-volume restaurant environment
  • Proven experience managing BOH operations in a BBQ, bar & grill, or casual dining concept
  • Strong knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation regulations, and health code compliance
  • Demonstrated ability to manage food and labor costs, including inventory control and ordering
  • Experience building, training, and retaining a high-performing kitchen team
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with a hands-on management style
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
  • Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays


Job Responsibilities

As our Kitchen Manager in State College, PA, you will be responsible for overseeing all back-of-house operations and ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality food. Key responsibilities in this Kitchen Manager role include:


  • Overseeing daily kitchen operations at our State College, PA location, ensuring smooth and efficient service during all dayparts
  • Leading, coaching, and developing BOH staff, including hiring, scheduling, and performance management
  • Maintaining food quality and consistency across all menu items, with a focus on our signature BBQ offerings
  • Managing food and labor costs in line with budgetary goals, including inventory management, ordering, and waste reduction
  • Enforcing food safety and sanitation standards, ensuring full compliance with all local health and safety regulations
  • Collaborating with ownership and management to develop seasonal specials, menu updates, and operational improvements
  • Monitoring kitchen equipment and coordinating maintenance and repairs as needed
  • Creating a positive kitchen culture that prioritizes teamwork, accountability, and culinary pride
