Position Summary
As the Regional Operations Manager, you are the primary representative of our company within your assigned market. You direct all aspects of property operations, including financial performance, maintenance, safety, staffing, training, and guest satisfaction. You will lead a team of General Managers and Floating GMs with a strong sense of urgency. We rely on you to maintain a reliable, strong presence both in person and when managing from afar. As a self-motivated professional, you will consistently keep the Regional Vice President in the loop on all market developments. Interaction at all staff levels is essential to monitor adherence to corporate policies, evaluate quality standards, and ensure we meet our hospitality goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Team Leadership & Development: Interview, hire, train, and support property staff. Lead GMs and floating GMs to achieve high employee and guest satisfaction scores.
- Operational Accountability: Maintain brand-specific operating standards for exterior and interior cleanliness. Enforce Look Book standards at all properties. Act with a strong sense of urgency to identify and resolve repair and maintenance issues.
- SOP & Guideline Enforcement: Exhibit the ability to be firm but understanding, while ensuring GMs strictly adhere to guidelines and new Standard Operating Procedures. Build strong follow-up skills and accountability within your team.
- Quality Assurance: Perform at least two thorough Quality Assurance inspections per quarter. Ensure post-renovation properties maintain upgraded standards.
- Financial Management: Drive performance throughout the market to maximize Revenue and EBITDA. Master financial budgets and actual P&Ls, and train your managers on each line item. Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and
- monitor labor expenses.
- Sales & Market Strategy: Monitor market competitors and recommend pricing decisions. Drive sales through local marketing and collaboration with the sales team.
- Risk & Safety Management: Manage safety, security, and policy violations. Ensure the Daily Exceptions Report is closely monitored. Immediately report any indications of fraud, risk, or safety issues to executive management.
- Communication: Maintain high levels of communication with the corporate office, your team, and the RVP. Address and resolve guest concerns promptly. Develop positive relationships with local governmental authorities.
Essential Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in an Area or Multi Property role overseeing at least 6 properties in the hospitality industry.
- Proven ability to delegate, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and examine work for exactness.
- Strong follow-up skills and a track record of building accountability within a team.
- Self-motivated individual who requires minimal supervision, adapts quickly, and thrives in dynamic environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, alongside strong time-management abilities.
- Valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, and access to reliable transportation.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
- Work Environment: Occasional exposure to extreme weather conditions at property locations.
- Travel Demands: You must be able to travel with short notice. Approximately 50% to 80% overnight travel is required, including flying and driving to properties located across the country.
