Opportunity awaits on the beautiful Island of Hawaii! We have an opening for a talented Director of Revenue Management to bring the aloha spirit, drive profitability, and create memorable guest experiences. If you dream in spreadsheets and consider maximizing RevPAR a thrilling extreme sport, you belong here.
The Mission
You will lead the overall development and daily maintenance of optimal pricing and channel distribution strategies. Your primary focus is to position the hotel to shatter financial goals while making it look effortless.
What You Will Actually Do Every Day:
- Provide services that boost guest satisfaction and retention. (Happy guests spend more money. It is a proven fact.)
- Use your interpersonal skills to lead and influence the team. Advocate for sound business decisions without sounding like a broken calculator.
- Meet or exceed revenue goals for the property.
- Review daily, weekly, and monthly reports to monitor progress. Recommend brilliant ways to maximize results.
- Design and implement a transient sales strategy that actively captures market share.
- Analyze short- and long-term forecasts. Constantly improve demand forecast accuracy until you essentially predict the future.
- Conduct action-based weekly Revenue Management meetings. Prepare and distribute reports so everyone knows exactly how well the property is performing.
- Ensure compliance with all revenue management standards, including mastery of RM systems.
- Evaluate group opportunities. Make precise pricing and inventory recommendations, complete group displacement analysis, and monitor cutoff dates to prevent group wash.
- Oversee the in-house Reservations department. Schedule properly to meet business demands and develop staff to assist in RM functions when you take a well-deserved day off.
- Develop an optimal system of rate and inventory management for the wholesale segment. Improve ARI management through systems connectivity and dynamic pricing models.
- Analyze weekly and monthly STR reports for trends. Monitor the competition for shifts in demand, rate, and strategy. Exploit every opportunity to capture market share.
- Create detailed reports summarizing key performance indicators.
- Develop proactive action plans to address future need periods and rescue short-term distressed inventory.
- Work closely with the corporate marketing team on promotional strategy. Merchandise rates, packages, and promotions across all websites.
- Foster a culture of Revenue Management throughout all hotel departments. Train team members so they finally understand how your pricing magic works.
- Communicate regularly with corporate leadership to share your data-driven wins.
What You Bring to the Table:
- Experience: A minimum of five (5) years of revenue management experience in a hotel setting (preferably in Hawaii or with Marriott Properties). You know exactly how to drive ADR and occupancy simultaneously.
- Location Expertise: Prior Hawaii market experience or Marriott experience is an absolute requirement.
- Tech Wizardry: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft applications. You do not just use Excel; you bend it to your will.
- Communication: English speaking or bilingual. You possess strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills while presenting to ownership
- Grace Under Fire: Exceptional work ethic with the ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Leadership Presence: You comfortably interact with Senior Leadership and build effective working relationships inside and outside the organization.
If you have a proven track record of finding revenue where others see empty rooms, we want you to lead our pricing strategy on the island.
