Overview

A well established winery in Temecula Wine Country is seeking an experienced Assistant Tasting Room Manager to support daily operations and help lead a high touch guest experience environment.

This role is designed for a seasoned hospitality professional who understands the difference between service and true hosting. The tasting room operates with an elevated, guest focused approach where pacing, presence, and attention to detail are critical.

The Assistant Manager will play a key role on the floor, supporting team performance, guest experience, and sales execution while working closely with senior leadership.

Position Overview

The Assistant Tasting Room Manager supports all aspects of tasting room operations including guest experience, team leadership, and daily execution.

This is a hands on role that requires strong floor presence, real time coaching, and the ability to lead with calm confidence. The position works closely with the General Manager and leadership team to ensure standards are consistently upheld.

The ideal candidate leads by example, understands hospitality at a deeper level, and is comfortable working in both high volume and more refined, paced environments.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Experience and Floor Leadership

Maintain a strong and visible presence on the tasting room floor

Ensure guests feel welcomed, comfortable, and well taken care of

Handle guest concerns calmly and professionally

Coach team members in real time to maintain service standards

Sales and Wine Club Support

Support tasting room sales goals and overall performance

Assist with wine club growth, retention, and member engagement

Help team members improve wine knowledge and guest interaction

Provide feedback on sales performance and opportunities

Team Leadership and Development

Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training new team members

Support scheduling, staffing levels, and daily operations

Provide coaching and performance feedback

Act as manager on duty when senior leadership is not present

Operations and Compliance

Ensure opening and closing procedures are followed

Maintain accuracy with POS, cash handling, and reporting

Support payroll related processes including commissions

Ensure compliance with alcohol service laws and labor regulations

Maintain a clean, organized, and guest ready environment

Ideal Candidate Profile

7 or more years of hospitality leadership experience

Background in winery, restaurant, hotel, or high end guest focused environments

Strong guest service instincts and leadership presence

Ability to lead teams in both busy and slower paced environments

Calm, professional demeanor with strong communication skills

Working knowledge of POS systems and basic computer tools

Wine knowledge or willingness to develop it quickly

Schedule

Wednesday through Sunday

Must be available for weekends, holidays, and peak seasons
