A well-established hospitality-driven outdoor resort is seeking a Facilities Manager to oversee all aspects of property maintenance, facilities operations, grounds management, and infrastructure support. This role plays a key part in ensuring the property operates efficiently while maintaining a safe, well-maintained, and guest-ready environment across all areas of the resort.

This is a hands-on leadership position ideal for someone with experience in hospitality facilities management, resort maintenance, building systems, and property operations, with the ability to lead teams and manage day-to-day maintenance and operational needs.

Position Overview

The Facilities Manager will lead daily operations across maintenance, landscaping, and general property upkeep, ensuring all buildings, guest accommodations, public areas, and back-of-house spaces meet high operational and safety standards. This role requires a strong background in preventive maintenance programs, HVAC systems, electrical and plumbing repairs, vendor management, and facilities oversight within a hospitality or resort environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and lead daily facilities management and maintenance operations across the property
  • Manage groundskeeping, landscaping, parking areas, roadways, and exterior property appearance
  • Direct and execute preventive maintenance and repair programs for guest rooms, cabins, buildings, and equipment
  • Troubleshoot and maintain HVAC systems, electrical systems, plumbing, carpentry, and general building maintenance
  • Coordinate vendor relationships, project management, and facility upgrades or repairs
  • Support operations of utility systems including heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and wastewater systems where applicable
  • Act as a resource for basic IT infrastructure support, including internet connectivity and security systems
  • Recruit, train, schedule, and develop a maintenance and grounds team, ensuring productivity and service standards are met
  • Manage inventory, tools, supplies, and departmental budgets tied to facilities and maintenance operations
  • Deliver strong guest service and service recovery, supporting overall hospitality operations
  • Collaborate with leadership across departments to support resort operations and property management goals
  • Serve as Manager on Duty when needed and lead by example through hands-on involvement in maintenance tasks

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in facilities management, maintenance supervision, building maintenance, or hospitality engineering operations
  • Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, carpentry, and preventive maintenance programs
  • Experience in hotel, resort, campground, or property management environments strongly preferred
  • Proven ability in team leadership, vendor coordination, project oversight, and operational budgeting
  • Familiarity with pool systems, filtration systems, wastewater systems, or environmental systems is a plus
  • Certifications such as Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) are preferred
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills with a focus on guest satisfaction and operational excellence
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call situations

Physical Requirements

This role requires the ability to actively work throughout a large property, including lifting up to 50 pounds, standing for extended periods, and working in outdoor conditions. Candidates should be comfortable with physical tasks such as bending, climbing, kneeling, and navigating various environments typical of resort maintenance and facilities operations.

About the Opportunity

This opportunity is ideal for a Facilities Manager, Maintenance Manager, or Engineering Supervisor who thrives in a hospitality setting and takes pride in maintaining high property standards. The role offers the chance to lead resort facilities operations, maintenance teams, and property infrastructure, while contributing directly to the overall guest experience and operational success of the property.
