Job Description: 


The Sous Chef is responsible for the efficiency and effectiveness of the kitchen and food production outlets, along with experience cooking learning stations. The Sous Chef may serve on the property’s executive committee. The Sous Chef will ensure guest satisfaction by effectively running the daily operations of the kitchen, maintaining control of the standards for purchasing and receiving items, and working closely with the store room manager and food and beverage controller to establish and maintain control of the standards for purchasing and receiving items. The Sous Chef will need to create recipes and production methods, compile new banquet menus, and inspect all food service functions during service to ensure that the correct standards are maintained. The Sous Chef will need to maintain up-to-date knowledge of local and international market trends and competitor’s food production/offering. The Sous Chef will lead and develop the careers of the culinary staff and assist in the promotion of in-house sales activities, such as culinary festivals, chef specialties and culinary competitions.

Qualifications: 


- The Sous Chef should have a high school diploma or GED with a Culinary degree or a minimum of five years of industry experience 

- The Sous Chef must manage and motivate others while acting as a role model 

- The Sous Chef must have proven success in controlling costs associated with running a profitable business, such as food, labor and beverage 

- Trust, honesty, integrity and passion for customer satisfaction are a requirement for the Executive Sous Chef
