A premier luxury-branded hotel in Greenwich, CT is seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Finance to lead all financial operations for the property. This executive leadership role is responsible for driving financial performance, maintaining compliance and internal controls, supporting operational leadership, and ensuring the highest standards of financial integrity within a luxury hospitality environment.

This individual will serve as a key business partner to the General Manager and ownership group, helping to shape both the financial strategy and overall operational success of the hotel. The Director of Finance will play a critical role in balancing guest experience excellence with strong fiscal discipline, ensuring the property continues to perform at the highest level while maintaining the standards expected of a world-class luxury brand.

Responsibilities

• Lead all day-to-day financial operations for the hotel, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, payroll oversight, accounts payable/receivable, and financial reporting
• Partner closely with the General Manager and executive leadership team to drive profitability and operational performance
• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with brand and ownership requirements
• Analyze financial trends, labor costs, departmental expenses, and revenue performance to identify opportunities for improvement
• Develop and manage annual operating budgets and capital expenditure plans
• Ensure compliance with all corporate policies, accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal audit requirements
• Maintain strong internal controls and safeguard hotel assets
• Oversee cash flow management, banking relationships, and financial risk management
• Lead, mentor, and develop the hotel’s finance and accounting team
• Support strategic planning initiatives and provide financial guidance for operational decision-making
• Coordinate external audits and maintain strong relationships with ownership groups and corporate partners

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of hotel finance leadership experience, preferably within luxury or upscale branded hotels
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, hospitality management, or related field required
• Previous experience as a Director of Finance, Assistant Director of Finance, or Hotel Controller strongly preferred
• Strong knowledge of hotel accounting systems, financial reporting, forecasting, and budgeting
• Experience with luxury hotel operations and brand standards preferred
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Proven ability to lead teams and collaborate cross-functionally with operations leaders
• High level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail
• CPA, CHAE, or MBA is a plus
