Job Description
General Manager — High-Volume Family-Style Restaurant
About the role: We're hiring a General Manager to run a high-volume, family-style restaurant where the dining room stays full and the kitchen never slows down. This is senior operations leadership for someone who can lead a large team, hold standards under real pressure, and deliver the numbers that keep a busy operation healthy. If you know how to run a packed floor without losing the details, this is your room.
Why this role exists
A high-volume restaurant doesn't run on momentum. It runs on leadership. We need a General Manager who can manage a big team, protect the guest experience at full capacity, and own the business results that come with serving a large, steady crowd. You'll set the pace for every shift and the standard the whole team follows.
What you'll manage
- Lead daily operations across the front and back of house in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
- Hire, coach, and develop assistant managers, shift leaders, and hourly staff into a team that performs and stays.
- Own the P&L, including sales, food cost, labor cost, and profitability targets.
- Manage labor through smart scheduling that matches guest demand and protects margins during peak rushes.
- Control inventory, ordering, and vendor relationships to limit waste and keep costs in line.
- Hold service standards high so every family leaves with a reason to come back.
- Keep the operation clean, safe, and in full compliance with food safety and local regulations.
- Drive sales through strong execution, upsell coaching, and consistent guest experience.
- Use POS data, cost reports, and sales trends to make decisions, not guesses.
- Handle guest concerns directly and turn busy, high-pressure moments into loyalty.
Required qualifications
- 3+ years of restaurant management experience, with full P&L responsibility in a high-volume setting.
- Proven ability to hire, lead, coach, and retain both managers and hourly staff.
- Strong command of food cost control, labor management, and profitability.
- Experience running large teams through heavy-volume shifts without dropping standards.
- Working knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and local compliance requirements.
- Comfortable with POS systems, scheduling tools, and financial reporting.
- Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred experience
- Experience leading a family-style, casual dining, or high-traffic restaurant concept.
- A track record of growing sales, improving margins, or lowering turnover.
- Experience building or refining service standards and operational systems.
- Background in opening, repositioning, or scaling a busy restaurant operation.
About the team
This is a busy, family-style restaurant built on volume, consistency, and a team that takes pride in the work. The pace is real, the expectations are clear, and ownership backs leaders who run the operation well. You'll have the authority to shape the program and the support to do it right.
Work setup
On-site leadership role with a mix of day, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts based on business needs. Standing, walking, and moving through a busy operation are part of the job.
