Job Description
Assistant General Manager – Select Service Hotel
Salary: $43K - $50K + Annual Bonus potential
Location: Rowlett, Texas
** Promotion to GM within 1 Year is highly possible
The Role
A great select service hotel runs on more than clean rooms and a smooth check-in. It runs on leadership that shows up, sets the pace, and keeps the guest experience consistent from the front desk to the final review.
We are looking for an Assistant General Manager who knows that the lobby is the floor, the team is the engine, and the guest is the reason. You will partner directly with the General Manager to drive daily operations, support the team, protect service standards, and keep the property performing.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who moves with energy, leads with intention, and genuinely enjoys taking care of guests.
What You'll Own
- Support the General Manager in running daily hotel operations across front office, housekeeping, and guest services
- Lead, coach, and support team members to deliver consistent, high-quality service every shift
- Step in as the acting leader on the property in the GM's absence
- Manage front office & housekeeping operations, scheduling, and shift coverage to keep service tight during peak and off-peak hours
- Resolve guest concerns quickly and professionally, turning issues into loyalty
- Monitor daily performance metrics, occupancy, and guest satisfaction scores, and act on what they tell you
- Help control labor, supplies, and operating costs without cutting corners on the guest experience
- Uphold brand standards, safety protocols, and property cleanliness at all times
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, and developing a stable, motivated team
- Build a culture where staff want to stay and guests want to return
What You Bring
Required
- 1–2 years of experience as an Assistant General Manager or Front Office Manager in a hotel setting. preferably from a Hilton property
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of supporting and developing teams
- A genuine passion for guest service and a high-energy presence on the floor
- Solid understanding of front office operations and hotel performance metrics
- Comfort with hotel property management systems and standard reporting
- Flexible scheduling availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Strongly Preferred
- Bilingual ability (English/Spanish), which is a real advantage in serving guests and supporting the team
- Select service or limited service hotel experience
- Familiarity with a recognized hotel brand and its operating standards
Schedule Expectations
Hotels never stop, and neither does great leadership. This role requires flexibility across all shifts, including weekends and holidays, based on property needs. The right candidate sees that flexibility as part of the job, not an obstacle.
Leadership & Service Standards
You set the tone for the property. That means leading by example, holding the team to clear standards, and treating every guest interaction as a chance to build loyalty. We want a leader who is approachable to the team, present on the floor, and steady under pressure.
Service is not a department here. It is the standard, and you will be the one who keeps it.
