Training: All Expenses paid for 6 weeks in The Woodlands or Pasadena, TX
Position Summary
The Assistant Restaurant Manager supports the Restaurant General Manager in leading the daily operations of a high-volume, full-service restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. This role is responsible for ensuring exceptional guest service, maintaining company standards, developing team members, and achieving operational and financial goals. The Assistant Manager provides leadership by coaching employees, fostering a positive work environment, and ensuring consistent execution of brand standards.
Key Responsibilities
Operations
- Assist in managing the daily operations of a three-meal restaurant.
- Ensure consistent execution of company policies, procedures, and brand standards.
- Monitor food quality, presentation, cleanliness, and service throughout all meal periods.
- Resolve guest concerns professionally and promptly to ensure a positive dining experience.
- Support opening, shift change, and closing procedures.
Leadership & Team Development
- Supervise, coach, and motivate front-of-house and back-of-house team members.
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, and performance management.
- Lead pre-shift meetings and communicate operational priorities.
- Promote teamwork, accountability, and a culture of hospitality.
- Assist with employee recognition and retention initiatives.
Financial Performance
- Help achieve sales, labor, and profitability goals.
- Monitor labor costs and staffing levels to meet business demands.
- Assist with inventory management, ordering, and cost control.
- Support initiatives to reduce waste and improve operational efficiency.
Food Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all health department regulations and food safety standards.
- Maintain sanitation, cleanliness, and workplace safety throughout the restaurant.
- Enforce company policies regarding food handling, alcohol service, and employee safety.
Guest Experience
- Deliver exceptional hospitality by engaging with guests and ensuring satisfaction.
- Address guest feedback and resolve service issues promptly.
- Foster a welcoming atmosphere that encourages repeat business and brand loyalty.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework in Hospitality or Business preferred.
- 2–4 years of restaurant management or supervisory experience in a high-volume, full-service restaurant.
- Experience with breakfast, lunch, and dinner operations preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multitask and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with restaurant POS systems, scheduling software, and Microsoft Office applications.
- ServSafe Food Protection certification (or ability to obtain within required timeframe).
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Bend, reach, climb, and work in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
- Availability to work flexible schedules, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
