Job Description

FOH Manager – Upscale Italian Restaurant

Location: Saratoga Springs, NY area

Compensation: $75,000–$85,000+ base, plus performance-based bonus

Schedule: ~50 hours/week during peak summer season; ~40 hours/week off-season

About the Opportunity

Join a beloved, family-owned Italian restaurant with deep roots in the Saratoga community, serving guests since 1938. This 200-seat upscale/finer dining concept is known not just for its food, but for the warmth and hospitality that make regulars feel like part of the family. Many guests have been dining here for years, and the team takes real pride in continuing that tradition. This is a workplace that genuinely invests in its people and treats staff like family, offering a supportive, positive culture to build a career in.

The Role

We're looking for a Strong FOH/General Manager with a vibrant, positive, and infectious personality — someone staff and guests naturally gravitate toward. You'll be the face of the house, responsible for maintaining the warm, personal touch that has kept generations of guests coming back, while leading and mentoring a dedicated team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily front-of-house operations for a 200-seat upscale dining room
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of approximately 18–20 staff during the busy summer season, scaling to around 10 staff during the rest of the year
  • Foster a positive, family-oriented work environment for staff
  • Build and maintain relationships with longtime, loyal guests, embracing the restaurant's family-style hospitality culture
  • Help guide the wine program and guest experience around an extensive wine list

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience as a General Manager or senior manager in an upscale/finer dining environment
  • A natural leader with strong mentorship instincts and a genuine investment in staff development
  • Background in either corporate or independent restaurant management — a combination of both is a plus, with at least some independent experience preferred
  • Knowledge of wine strongly preferred; sommelier experience is a bonus given the restaurant's extensive wine list
  • Ability to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced seasonal environment

Compensation & Benefits

  • $75,000–$85,000+ base salary, commensurate with experience
  • Performance-based bonus
  • No formal benefits package; compensation is structured with additional salary to offset this

This is a time-sensitive search — the client is hoping to fill this role within the next several weeks as they head into the remainder of their busy season.
