Job Overview:
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Catering & Event Sales Manager to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving sales and managing the full catering and event sales cycle, from initial inquiries through to event execution. You will work closely with clients to understand their vision, develop tailored proposals, and coordinate with the operations team to ensure successful event delivery. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in event sales, exceptional customer service skills, and a passion for creating unforgettable experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive new business by identifying, prospecting, and securing catering and event sales opportunities, with a focus on both corporate and private events.
- Work directly with clients to understand their event needs, budgets, and preferences, offering customized catering solutions and event services.
- Develop and present detailed proposals, including menu options, service styles, staffing requirements, and event logistics.
- Negotiate pricing and contracts, ensuring that both client needs and company profitability are met.
- Coordinate all aspects of the event sales process, including managing timelines, logistics, and client communication from initial inquiry through event completion.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with current and potential clients to encourage repeat business and referrals.
- Collaborate with the operations team, including chefs, kitchen staff, and event coordinators, to ensure seamless execution of events.
- Conduct site visits, tastings, and walk-throughs with clients to confirm event details and offer suggestions for enhancing their experience.
- Monitor and manage event budgets, ensuring that costs are kept within agreed parameters while delivering an exceptional guest experience.
- Respond to client inquiries and resolve any issues or concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Stay current on industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging event styles to continuously improve the service and products offered.
- Track and report on sales goals, progress, and performance metrics to senior management.
Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of experience in event sales, catering sales, or a similar role in the hospitality or catering industry.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and managing client relationships.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to interact confidently with high-level clients.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple events and clients simultaneously.
- A passion for event planning, hospitality, and delivering exceptional client service.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and event management software.
- Knowledge of catering logistics, event production, and current trends in the catering and event industry.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate client needs and event schedules.
