Job Overview:We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly skilled Assistant Kitchen Manager to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with a passion for food, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment. The Assistant Kitchen Manager will support the Kitchen Manager in overseeing the day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring that all food prepared meets the highest quality standards and that kitchen staff is properly trained and supported.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Kitchen Manager in supervising kitchen staff and ensuring smooth kitchen operations during service.
  • Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure consistency, quality, and portion control.
  • Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized kitchen environment by adhering to all health and safety regulations.
  • Assist in managing inventory, including ordering, receiving, and storing ingredients and supplies.
  • Train, coach, and develop kitchen staff to maintain a high standard of cooking and service.
  • Monitor food costs and assist in controlling waste while maintaining the quality and consistency of dishes.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, food safety regulations, and sanitation standards.
  • Assist in the creation of new menu items and specials in collaboration with the Executive Chef and Kitchen Manager.
  • Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure efficient communication and seamless service.
  • Handle any kitchen-related issues, troubleshooting, and resolving problems quickly and efficiently.
  • Assist with scheduling kitchen staff to ensure proper coverage for shifts, especially during peak hours.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef, Kitchen Supervisor, or in a similar role in a high-volume kitchen.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent professional cooking experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food safety standards, and kitchen equipment.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail with a strong focus on food quality and presentation.
  • Ability to work well with a diverse team and promote a positive work culture.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
