Catering & Event General Manager – Staten Island, NY

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Catering & Event General Manager to oversee all aspects of operations and sales at an event venue in Staten Island. This leadership role requires a strategic thinker and hands-on operator who excels in managing large-scale events, driving sales, and ensuring flawless execution. The ideal candidate combines strong business acumen with a passion for hospitality and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all catering and event operations, from sales and planning through execution and follow-up
  • Lead, train, and manage a team of event coordinators, banquet staff, and support personnel to deliver exceptional service
  • Drive revenue growth by developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients, vendors, and community partners
  • Negotiate contracts, set pricing strategies, and manage budgets to achieve profitability goals
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for high-profile clients, ensuring personalized attention and seamless communication
  • Coordinate with culinary and operations teams to design menus, event layouts, and service standards
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations at all times
  • Monitor financial performance by analyzing P&L statements, labor costs, and sales reports
  • Implement marketing initiatives and community outreach efforts to increase event bookings
  • Continuously evaluate systems, processes, and staff performance to improve efficiency and guest satisfaction
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in catering, banquets, or large-scale event management
  • Proven success in both sales and operations within the hospitality industry
  • Strong leadership and team development skills with the ability to inspire and motivate staff
  • Excellent organizational, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple events simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and event management software
  • Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to support event needs
