General Manager - New Opening Premier Fine-Dining RestaurantDowntown Calgary

Job Summary:

A premier fine-dining establishment is seeking a General Manager for the opening of its new location in downtown Calgary. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading all operational aspects of the restaurant, including team recruitment, training, and management, to ensure the delivery of exceptional guest experiences and adherence to the highest standards of quality.

Compensation

  • Total Annual Compensation: $120,000 - $140,000

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all front-of-house and back-of-house restaurant operations, from table service to kitchen workflow, to guarantee an exceptional standard of service and consistently high levels of guest satisfaction.
  • Manage the full employee life-cycle, including the recruitment, hiring, onboarding, training, and ongoing professional development of a high-performing service team dedicated to excellence.
  • Direct the financial performance of the restaurant by developing strategies for revenue growth, analyzing profit and loss statements, and implementing effective cost management and inventory control measures.
  • Uphold and rigorously enforce the highest standards of quality, service, and hospitality, ensuring every aspect of the dining experience is consistent with our fine-dining brand's reputation for luxury and excellence.

Required Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience as a General Manager or a similar senior leadership role, specifically within a fine-dining or upscale restaurant environment where exceptional service standards are paramount.
  • A proven record of success in building, leading, and mentoring high-performance teams, fostering a positive and collaborative culture that encourages growth and excellence.
  • Strong business acumen, with comprehensive skills in P&L management, budget creation and oversight, and consistently achieving or exceeding financial targets through strategic planning and operational efficiency.
  • A deep and professional commitment to the art of hospitality, with a passion for creating truly memorable dining experiences for every guest and a keen eye for detail in all aspects of service and ambiance.
