FACILITIES MANAGER
Salary: $100,000 annually
Full-Time | Regional Travel Required
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Facilities Manager to oversee the maintenance, repair, and improvement of multiple restaurant and retail facilities.
This position requires someone who understands the unique demands of maintaining active commercial locations where facility and equipment issues can directly impact daily operations and the guest experience.
This is a hands-on role. The Facilities Manager will personally handle minor repairs and troubleshooting when appropriate while coordinating qualified contractors and vendors for larger or specialized projects. The position will also oversee preventative maintenance, property inspections, renovations, and facility improvement projects.
The ideal candidate is proactive, mechanically inclined, highly organized, and capable of identifying and resolving potential problems before they disrupt restaurant or retail operations.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct routine inspections of restaurant and retail properties.
Identify maintenance, repair, safety, and facility concerns and establish appropriate priorities.
Personally perform minor repairs, troubleshooting, and general maintenance when appropriate.
Ensure preventative maintenance programs are being completed for building systems and equipment.
Respond to facility and equipment issues that could affect daily operations.
Identify potential problems and coordinate repairs before they result in operational disruptions.
Maintain the overall condition, functionality, safety, and appearance of assigned properties.
Coordinate and manage outside contractors, vendors, and service providers.
Obtain and evaluate competitive bids for repairs, renovations, and facility improvements.
Negotiate pricing and service terms with vendors.
Develop scopes of work and estimated budgets for larger projects.
Oversee repairs, renovations, upgrades, and capital improvement projects from planning through completion.
Monitor contractor performance and ensure work meets established quality and operational standards.
Coordinate work around operating schedules to minimize disruption to restaurant and retail operations.
Maintain organized documentation of repairs, preventative maintenance, contracts, and ongoing projects.
Provide regular updates regarding facility conditions, project status, costs, and outstanding needs.
Assist with landlord/tenant facility responsibilities as applicable.
Handle additional facilities and property-related projects as needed.
Qualifications
Previous experience in facilities management, restaurant facilities, retail facilities, commercial property maintenance, building maintenance, construction, or a related field.
Experience supporting restaurant and/or retail environments strongly preferred.
Strong hands-on general maintenance and repair capabilities.
Working knowledge of commercial building systems, equipment, and preventative maintenance.
Ability to troubleshoot facility and equipment problems and determine the appropriate course of action.
Experience managing contractors, vendors, and service providers.
Experience obtaining bids, reviewing proposals, and overseeing repair or renovation projects.
Strong organizational and project-management skills.
Ability to manage multiple locations and prioritize both planned and emergency facility needs.
Self-directed and comfortable spending significant time working in the field.
Strong communication, problem-solving, and follow-through skills.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel regularly between assigned locations.
