Job Qualifications
Our ideal candidate is an experienced leader who’s ready to take charge in a vibrant, high-volume kitchen. Here’s what we’re looking for:
- A minimum of 3 years of kitchen management experience in a high-volume restaurant setting (annual revenue of $4M+).
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and manage teams effectively.
- A strong grasp of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Experience in controlling food and labor costs.
- A culinary degree or equivalent experience is a plus but not required.
Job Responsibilities
As our Kitchen Manager, you’ll oversee all aspects of back-of-house operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and teamwork. Key responsibilities include:
- Supervising Food Preparation: Maintain high standards by overseeing every step of the production and plating process.
- Enforcing Policies and Cleanliness: Ensure compliance with employment, food safety, and kitchen cleanliness protocols.
- Streamlining Operations: Monitor ticket times, productivity, and overall kitchen efficiency.
- Training and Performance Management: Lead, train, and evaluate back-of-house team members to foster a positive and productive work environment.
- Maintaining Food Safety: Conduct regular taste tests, temperature checks, inventory reviews, and proper food handling practices.
- Managing Costs: Track and minimize kitchen waste while effectively controlling food and labor expenses.
- Scheduling and Maintenance: Create weekly staff schedules and ensure all kitchen equipment is well-maintained and functioning properly.
- Recruiting and Onboarding: Review applications, interview candidates, and onboard new hires to build a strong back-of-house team.
