Job Qualifications


As a Procurement Manager in Boston, MA, or Walpole, NH, you should meet the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Demonstrated experience purchasing high-quality ingredients and high-end packaging.
  • Knowledge and application of procurement/warehousing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Hands-on experience with ERP/MRP systems (NetSuite experience preferred).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proven ability to work independently while managing shifting priorities and ensuring team alignment.

 

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Planning & Leadership

  • Establish a robust indirect procurement function to serve as the organization’s key expert.
  • Develop and implement procurement policies that prioritize best practices.
  • Lead vendor negotiations while managing market-related risks.
  • Ensure all purchasing complies with the budget and meets ethical standards.

 

2. Supplier Management

  • Approve and manage supplier relationships to meet quality, timing, and cost-efficiency goals.
  • Implement standardized processes for procurement and supplier communications.
  • Track supplier performance and provide regular updates to internal stakeholders.

 

3. Procurement & Inventory Management

  • Create annual budgets and forecast pricing changes for core materials.
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels and resolve any supply chain challenges.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team on new product launches, ensuring cost-efficiency for packaging.
  • Keep procurement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) current while driving effectiveness.
