Job Description
The Venue Sales Exec is responsible for soliciting new event catering and experience accounts, booking organic leads; increasing event, food/bev, and bottle sales, entertaining and maintaining relationships with existing accounts; and planning, organizing and scheduling venue activations and happenings to build the brand and drive on-site sales. Supports booking to execution process of onsite events.Â
PREREQUISITES:
- Minimum two years experience in hotel/restaurant/country club catering or event sales / coordination.
- Exceptional people skills and demonstrated ability to build trust and relationships.
- Exceptional written skills for client correspondence.
- Exceptional organizational skills for record keeping, lead creation and follow up, and relationship nurturing
- Skilled at managing and dealing with customers by having a high level of patience, tact, and diplomacy to defuse anger, misunderstandings, and ability to collect information and resolve conflicts on the spot.
- Direct sales experience to a variety of corporate/individual clients for event catering events.
- Solicit new business and maintain existing relationships; Venue Sales Exec will be evaluated on booking both organic leads and identifying and booking new business leads.
- Responsible for meeting and greeting clients, conducting property tours, and promoting distillery private and corporate events, experiences, activations, and happenings.
- Work with GM Hospitality and Sales team to plan and deliver events at a high level of quality and personal touch.
- Responsible for developing client menus, writing contracts and correspondence with clients, invoicing, organizing all event arrangements as they relate to private, charitable, and corporate meetings/events.
- Integrate as a key staff member for company-wide planning and attend the set up and implementation of events and meetings.
- Communicate and train relevant staff for execution of on-site events.
- Plan, coordinate, liaise, and execute events in concert with Club program manager, bottle shop personnel, bar & restaurant personnel and field sales personnel as required.
- Assist with booking-to-execution process to include Banquet Event Orders, Set-Up and Staff Communication and in some cases work through events.
- Organize and present data to inform event sales trends and to inform new strategies (occupancy, client portfolios,etc) Â
- Prepare and present weekly/monthly Catering Sales Reports and other reports as directed.
- Developing and maintaining new programs such as corporate conference program, and others
- Audit client checks to ensure accuracy.
- Supervise staff in the distribution of event materials.
- Duties are subject to change and additional responsibilities/tasks may be assigned as needed.
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to network within the designated marker/business area and coordinate activities with Sales staff.
- Exceptional administrative and writing skills with an emphasis on accuracy, timeliness, and completeness.
- Extensive knowledge of food and beverage etiquette, service standards, food preparation, and presentation of food and beverage items. Ability to teach these skills to others.
- Ability to prepare signage for Catering events.
- Ability to create themes and menus for events.
- Develop and execute catering layouts using a variety of creative set-ups and configurations for meeting rooms.
- Abide by company policies.
- Efficiently perform showing, sales, bookings, records management on site  with work on evenings and weekends to ensure sales growth and exceptional execution of events, activations, and happenings. Some offsite sales work to solicit new business & attend offsite activations, etc. This is an in-person position. Minimum on-site hours are 10-6 Tues-Sat. Remote hours or overall schedule adjustments must be approved in writing by managing partners and will be approved if reasonable provided company mission is met and to enhance employee morale.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English to comprehend and communicate event and job functions. Must possess strong communication skills, including the ability to read, write, and speak effectively to convey information clearly and professionally.
- Ability to walk, sit, stand, reach, and bend for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Must possess valid driver’s license.
- Book Off-Site Marketing, Sales, and Charity Event
- Retail Shop manning; Tours and Tastings; assist as requested
- Assist with processing of Charitable Contribution requests
- Utility Player - assist as needed - tend bar, bus tables, set up / take down)
- May require periodic travel; approved travel outside Moore County – mileage to be reimbursed.
