Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven General Manager to lead the operations of our Marriott select service hotel in Boone, NC. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic leader with a passion for hospitality, a proven track record of operational excellence, and the ability to deliver exceptional guest experiences while driving financial performance. As the General Manager, you will oversee all aspects of the hotel’s operations, ensuring alignment with Marriott brand standards and company goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Leadership:

  • Oversee daily hotel operations, including front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, and food & beverage services, ensuring smooth and efficient functionality.
  • Ensure compliance with Marriott brand standards, company policies, and local/state regulations.
  • Monitor and maintain the property’s physical condition, ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for guests and staff.

Guest Experience:

  • Foster a guest-first culture by ensuring exceptional service delivery at every touchpoint.
  • Address guest feedback and resolve issues promptly to maintain high levels of satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Monitor guest satisfaction metrics (e.g., Marriott GuestVoice, online reviews) and implement strategies to improve scores.

Financial Management:

  • Develop and manage the hotel’s annual budget, including revenue, expenses, and profitability targets.
  • Analyze financial performance and implement cost-control measures to maximize profitability.
  • Drive revenue growth through effective sales strategies, pricing, and inventory management.

Team Leadership:

  • Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Set clear performance expectations and provide regular feedback to ensure accountability and professional growth.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating a commitment to excellence and a strong work ethic.

Sales and Marketing:

  • Collaborate with the sales team to develop and execute strategies to attract and retain guests, including group bookings and local partnerships.
  • Build relationships with local businesses, organizations, and community leaders to drive awareness and revenue.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor performance to identify opportunities for growth.

Compliance and Safety:

  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and security regulations, including fire codes and OSHA standards.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for audits, inspections, and Marriott brand evaluations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of hotel management experience, preferably within a Marriott select service property.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, P&L statements, and revenue strategies.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency in hotel management software (e.g., Marriott systems, PMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of the Boone, NC market and its unique tourism and business landscape (preferred).
