Title of Position: Chief Engineer

Job Description: The Chief Engineer will follow the direction of the Hotel General Manager by maintaining all property functions such as equipment, mechanical systems, electrical systems, HVAC, plumbing, etc. The Chief Engineer shall provide reports to upper management in a timely manner for projects and daily duties. This Chief Engineer should have an energetic hands-on approach in daily operations. Experience and teachability are two keys that are crucial to success in this position. The Chief Engineer must ensure that all systems operate to regulatory standards. The Chief Engineer must work effectively with the department managers to prioritize work orders through urgent request and establish hotel area downtimes to minimize inconveniencing guests. The Chief Engineer will train all Engineering staff in safety practices, loss prevention requirements, SOPs, and excellent customer service.

Qualifications:

·       The Chief Engineer must have high-volume engineering experience of at least 3 years

• Appropriate technical schooling is necessary for the Chief Engineer position.
• Open availability is a requirement for the Chief Engineer
• The Chief Engineer must be able to work well with members of all departments within the hotel and promote a cordial and caring attitude toward all other department heads
• Extensive knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems with extensive knowledge of HVAC systems.
• The Chief Engineer must be able to lift up to 50lbs on a regular basis
