Title of Position: Assistant Director of Engineering

Compensation: $90,000 - $105,000 per year (Full-time)

Job Responsibilities:

The Assistant Director of Engineering is responsible for working closely with the Director of Engineering to manage and restructure the engineering department, ensuring high operational standards and guest satisfaction. Key responsibilities include:

• Assisting the Director of Engineering in the overall management and restructuring of the engineering department.
• Overseeing preventative maintenance programs for all hotel systems and equipment.
• Providing technical expertise and hands-on support in electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems.
• Managing and supervising a team of approximately 30 engineering employees, including assigning tasks and ensuring proper execution.
• Collaborating with the CMMS Coordinator for work order management using "Hot Sauce" software.
• Working with the Engineering Coordinator to manage administrative tasks and departmental projects.
• Ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and hotel standards.
• Assisting in budgeting, cost control, and procurement of engineering supplies and services.
• Fostering a culture of continuous improvement, efficiency, and exceptional service within the department.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent vocational training certificate; Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in hotel engineering, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Strong knowledge and practical experience in electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems is required.
• HVAC certification is required.
• Proficiency in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) software, specifically "Hot Sauce," is highly desirable.
• Exceptional leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
• Willingness to commit to a long-term role within the hotel, understanding that career advancement to Director of Engineering is primarily dependent on the current Director's tenure.
