Job Description

Executive Chef – Upscale Casual Restaurant

Salary: $75,000–$82,000 + Bonus Potential + Benefits

A well-established upscale casual restaurant in Wichita is searching for a strong Executive Chef to lead back-of-house operations. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on culinary leader who enjoys high-volume execution, team development, scratch-inspired food, and maintaining strong standards in a polished restaurant environment.

We are looking for an Executive Chef who can take ownership of kitchen operations, lead with consistency, and create a culture built on accountability, urgency, training, and pride in execution. This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable leading a busy kitchen, developing sous chefs and hourly team members, controlling costs, and partnering closely with the front-of-house leadership team.

Executive Chef Responsibilities

  • Lead daily back-of-house operations in a high-volume upscale casual restaurant
  • Maintain high standards for food quality, plate presentation, cleanliness, and ticket times
  • Recruit, train, coach, and develop sous chefs, kitchen supervisors, and hourly team members
  • Manage food cost, labor, inventory, ordering, waste control, and kitchen productivity
  • Ensure proper recipe execution, prep levels, line organization, and sanitation standards
  • Create a positive kitchen culture focused on teamwork, accountability, and guest satisfaction
  • Partner with restaurant leadership to drive sales, profitability, and operational consistency
  • Maintain compliance with food safety, health department, and company standards

Executive Chef Qualifications

  • Current or recent Executive Chef, Chef Partner, Kitchen Manager, or high-level culinary manager experience
  • Experience in full-service, upscale casual, polished casual, or high-volume restaurant environments
  • Strong leadership, training, and people-development skills
  • Solid understanding of food cost, labor control, inventory, ordering, and kitchen systems
  • Ability to lead from the floor and maintain calm, organized execution during peak volume
  • Passion for food quality, hospitality, and building strong kitchen teams

Compensation and Benefits

  • Base salary of $75,000–$82,000
  • Bonus potential
  • Medical, dental, and vision benefits
  • Paid time off
  • Growth opportunity with a strong restaurant group
  • Supportive leadership structure and professional operating standards

This is a strong opportunity for an Executive Chef who wants to lead a respected, high-volume kitchen with a company that values food quality, leadership, and operational excellence. If you are ready for a role where your culinary leadership and ability to develop a team can make a real impact, we would like to connect.
