DIRECTOR OF FINANCE- $100,000-$120,000

Midway Utah

Our Vibe: A Cozy, Relaxed Mountain Escape

We are a sanctuary hidden away in the mountains, where crackling fireplaces, stunning alpine views, and a slow, intentional pace define the everyday experience. We believe true luxury lies in comfort, warmth, and genuine human connection. Our culture is completely free of rigid, corporate stuffiness—instead, we foster an environment of relaxed excellence, mutual respect, and collaborative calm.

Here is how this mountain spirit transforms your role as our Director of Finance in Midway Utah.

Your Opportunity: Balance, Impact, and Leadership

This role offers the rare chance to combine a high-level executive career with a grounded, mountain lifestyle. As a trusted strategic partner to the General Manager and ownership, you will trade corporate burnout for a collaborative, close-knit leadership team. This is your opportunity to:

  • Lead with Warmth: Foster a supportive, low-stress financial department where team development and work-life balance are actively prioritized.
  • Shape the Experience: Use your financial insights to help us invest in the cozy amenities, guest comforts, and employee initiatives that make our mountain escape unique.
  • Streamline & Modernize: Oversee tech vendor partnerships to ensure our systems run seamlessly in the background, allowing the team to focus on what matters most.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborative Stewardship & Coaching

  • Support Our Leaders: Partner with department heads over a cup of coffee to provide analytical coaching, helping them find creative cost-saving and productivity opportunities.
  • Ground Our Vision: Review executive forecasts to ensure ownership and the General Manager are guided by financial goals that are both ambitious and stress-free.
  • Cultivate Financial Peace: Maintain clear, effective control procedures that give the entire resort team total confidence and peace of mind.

Financial Stewardship & Mountain Asset Protection

  • Maximize Sustainability: Use financial analysis and market trends to protect our margins, optimize returns, and ensure the long-term health of our mountain retreat.
  • Own the Numbers: Manage the complete, day-to-day accounting function, including financial statements, cash flow projections, and regular balance sheet analyses.
  • Protect Our Sanctuary: Ensure compliance with the management agreement, tax laws (sales, use, occupancy), and statutory requirements to safeguard hotel assets from loss or risk.

Qualifications & Experience

The Mindset

  • Approachable Communicator: You translate complex financial metrics into simple, friendly, and actionable insights for non-financial team members.
  • Grounded & Organized: You bring exceptional organizational skills and a calm, steady focus when navigating deadlines or shifting priorities.

The Background

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc. or B.A.) in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting or Finance.
  • Experience Track: Previous success as a hospitality Director of Finance is preferred, or a background as an Assistant Controller / Public Accounting Manager looking to step into a leadership role.
  • Technical Roots: Solid expertise in full general ledger management and navigating the month-end closing cycle.
