Job Description
Hotel Director of Sales
Houston, Texas
Relocation Assistance-Yes
Temp Housing- Yes
Salary: $110K - $125K + Bonus
Position Overview
We're looking for a Director of Sales who loves being in the room where deals happen. This isn't a desk job where you point at a strategy and hope the team runs with it. You'll lead a talented group of four sales professionals, and you'll also carry your own accounts, pick up the phone, and close business yourself.
You'll oversee both Sales and Catering for a full-service hotel with more than 200 rooms and 10,000 square feet of meeting space. If you've built your career on a strong Business Transient (BT) foundation and you know how to keep a property full during the week, this one's worth a look.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the sales strategy for the property and roll up your sleeves to help execute it.
- Actively sell. You'll manage key accounts, prospect new business, and personally drive BT revenue.
- Lead, coach, and support a team of four sales professionals, helping each one grow and hit their goals.
- Oversee both the Sales and Catering functions, keeping the two working closely together.
- Build and protect strong relationships with corporate accounts, travel partners, and repeat clients.
- Keep a close eye on market trends, competitor activity, and rate positioning so the property stays ahead.
- Partner with operations, revenue management, and catering to deliver a smooth experience from booking to check-out.
- Prepare forecasts, track performance, and manage the sales budget with an eye on profitability.
Qualifications
- A proven track record in hotel sales leadership, ideally at a full-service property.
- A strong Business Transient (BT) background. This is non-negotiable for the role.
- Comfort being a working leader who sells alongside the team rather than just directing it.
- Experience overseeing both Sales and Catering is a big plus.
- Genuine leadership skills. You know how to motivate a team and keep people engaged.
- Solid grasp of CRM systems, forecasting, and data-driven decision making.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Willingness to relocate if you're not already local. We'll help make that easier.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary: $110,000 to $125,000, based on experience.
- Bonus: 10% annual bonus potential.
- Relocation: Relocation assistance offered to help with the move.
- Temporary Housing: Temporary housing provided while you get settled.
If this sounds like the right fit for where you want to take your career, let's talk. We'd love to learn more about your goals and share the details discreetly, at your convenience. Please send a resume to jay@geckohospitality.com
