General Manager – New Restaurant Opening

A growing breakfast and lunch restaurant concept is preparing to open a brand-new location in the Manhattan, KS area, and we’re looking for an experienced General Manager to lead the opening and build a strong team from the ground up. What You’ll Do

As General Manager, you’ll have overall responsibility for the restaurant’s operations, financial performance, guest experience, and team development. With this being a new opening, you’ll also have the opportunity to establish expectations, develop the restaurant culture, and build a team committed to delivering an outstanding guest experience from day one.

Key responsibilities include:

• Recruit, hire, train, coach, and develop a high-performing restaurant team
• Build a positive, accountable culture centered around hospitality and teamwork
• Manage daily restaurant operations while maintaining high standards for food quality, service, cleanliness, and safety
• Create effective schedules and maintain appropriate staffing levels
• Manage food, labor, supply, and operating costs to achieve financial goals
• Monitor restaurant sales and identify opportunities to improve performance
• Manage inventory, ordering, food preparation, portion control, and waste
• Ensure accurate completion of payroll, invoices, reporting, and other administrative responsibilities
• Maintain compliance with company policies and federal, state, and local requirements
• Lead shifts and make effective operational decisions in a fast-paced restaurant environment
• Resolve guest concerns quickly and professionally with the goal of creating returning guests
• Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and professional restaurant environment
• Communicate restaurant results, staffing needs, challenges, and opportunities with ownership
• Lead by example and maintain a strong presence throughout the restaurant

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a hands-on restaurant leader who understands that great operations start with great people.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous General Manager experience is a must!
• A proven ability to recruit, train, motivate, and retain employees
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Experience managing food cost, labor cost, inventory, scheduling, and restaurant financial performance
• The ability to maintain high standards while operating in a fast-paced environment
• Strong guest-service instincts and the ability to resolve problems professionally
• Experience creating accountability while maintaining a positive workplace culture
• Working knowledge of food safety, sanitation, restaurant security, and operational procedures
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and restaurant management systems
• A valid driver’s license and ability to assist with catering-related needs when required
• Ability to complete all required food-service certifications and training
• Authorization to work in the United States
• Ability to successfully complete required background and credit checks
