As District Manager, you will lead a portfolio of nine hotels and their General Managers throughout the Boston Metro region, with responsibility for driving operational excellence, financial performance, guest satisfaction, and team development. You will serve as a coach, mentor, and strategic business partner to your General Managers, helping them strengthen their teams, overcome challenges, identify opportunities, and consistently deliver results.
This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys being in the hotels and connected to the people and the business. You will have the autonomy to lead, the resources to make an impact, and the opportunity to develop talented hotel leaders while building a culture of accountability, collaboration, and success across your district.
Responsibilities

- Build a strong culture of accountability, communication, recognition, collaboration, and continuous improvement across the district.
- Recruit and develop hotel leadership while strengthening retention, reducing turnover, and building a pipeline of future leaders.
- Champion the guest experience by monitoring key performance indicators, reputation management, and NPS while coaching hotel teams to continuously improve service.
- Support revenue and sales initiatives, local account development, rate strategies, and other opportunities to maximize hotel performance.
- Maintain a strong understanding of each hotel's competitive landscape, demand generators, market conditions, and opportunities for growth.
- Spend approximately 70% of working time in the hotels, providing hands-on leadership, conducting property visits and operational reviews, and ensuring consistent execution of company and brand standards.
- Partner with General Managers to maintain strong standards across safety, security, property condition, cleanliness, curb appeal, risk management, and overall hotel operations.
- Lead by example with a visible, accessible, supportive, and results-oriented leadership style that inspires teams while maintaining clear expectations and accountability.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 2-4 years of multi-unit hotel management experience from the economy, extended stay, or limited select hotel segments.
- Must reside within a commutable distance to the Boston Metro region. No relocation offered.
- 4-year degree highly preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of the market, competition, demand generators, and new hotel supply affecting properties within the district.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully lead, coach, develop, and hold accountable multiple General Managers and hotel teams.
- Strong understanding of hotel operations, financial performance, revenue management, labor management, sales, guest satisfaction, and brand standards.
- Proven ability to analyze hotel performance and translate data into clear, actionable strategies.
- Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to effectively organize multiple projects, prioritize competing responsibilities, and consistently meet deadlines.
- Well-developed planning, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong English reading, writing, and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with associates, guests, leadership, business partners, and outside vendors.
- Working knowledge of computers and business software, including email, word processing, and spreadsheet applications.
- Comfortable working independently in a highly visible field leadership role while collaborating closely with corporate and regional resources.
- Ability and willingness to travel regularly throughout the Boston Metro district and maintain a significant presence within the hotels.
