Restaurant Systems Manager / Director of Restaurant Technology

The Opportunity

We are seeking a hands-on Restaurant Systems Manager or Director of Restaurant Technology to own the full restaurant tech stack across all locations. This role is open to a strong manager-level leader with the skill set and ambition to grow into a Director role, or to an experienced Director — in either case, deep back-end Toast POS expertise is essential.

This is not a role for a power user. We are looking for someone who has built, configured, and maintained Toast from the back end, integrated it with HRIS and payroll systems, and led multi-location rollouts that operators actually rely on every day.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Leadership

• Develop and own a multi-year restaurant technology roadmap aligned with business goals and growth plans
• Evaluate emerging tools and trends — AI-driven forecasting, kitchen automation, digital ordering — and build business cases for investment
• Manage the technology budget, vendor contracts, and ROI reporting
• Serve as the bridge between technology and operations, translating technical concepts into clear, practical terms for non-technical leaders and teams

Systems Ownership

• Lead back-end setup, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of the Toast POS platform across all locations
• Build and maintain POS integrations with HRIS and payroll systems, ensuring clean, accurate data flow
• Oversee the full restaurant tech stack: POS, kitchen display systems (KDS), online ordering and third-party delivery integrations, reservations, loyalty, inventory, scheduling, labor management, and payments
• Ensure all systems are integrated, reliable, and scalable as the brand grows

Rollouts & New Restaurant Openings

• Lead multi-location system rollouts and integrations from planning through adoption
• Own the technology side of new restaurant openings, including hardware, network, and software deployment

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of technology experience in restaurant, hospitality, and/or multi-unit retail environments
• Restaurant or hospitality industry background required
• Proven back-end expertise setting up, configuring, and maintaining Toast POS — required
• Experience building POS systems that align with HRIS and payroll platforms, particularly within Toast
• Proven success leading multi-location system rollouts and integrations
• Strong understanding of restaurant operations and unit-level economics
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
• Experience managing budgets, vendors, and contracts

Nice to have: experience with additional platforms such as Aloha, Micros/Oracle, Square, Olo, PAR, Punchh, Restaurant365, or similar.
