Job Description
Front of House Manager
Wood fired restaurant & bar
Historic town in West Virginia
$55k plus relocation, housing assistance, and benefits
A well-established, independently owned restaurant and bar is searching for a Front of House Manager. Now in its second decade, the concept centers on wood-fired pizza, smoked wings, scratch-made salads, and a full bar with local and regional craft beer and wine. A recent move into a larger, custom-built space in a historic downtown added live music and expanded event capacity.
The restaurant draws a loyal local and visitor following, built on food, hospitality, and atmosphere. Ownership is hands-on and looking for a Front of House Manager to lead the dining room and bar and set the standard for every guest's visit.
What You'll Do
- Lead daily dining room and bar service, running the floor during peak shifts
- Hire, train, and coach servers, bartenders, and hosts; set the tone for hospitality and culture
- Build front-of-house schedules and manage labor against sales
- Support the beverage program with the bar team, including inventory and ordering
- Handle guest feedback in the moment and follow through on recovery
- Coordinate front-of-house execution for live music nights, private events, and seasonal programming
- Maintain service standards, cleanliness, and liquor licensing compliance
- Partner with the General Manager and ownership on guest experience and service standards
What We're Looking For
- 2+ years in front-of-house leadership (FOH Manager, Assistant Manager, Bar Manager, or senior shift lead) in a full-service restaurant with a bar program
- A confident floor presence and a steady hand during high-volume service
- Comfort with scheduling, POS systems, and basic cost control
- Working knowledge of craft beer and wine a plus
- ServSafe and alcohol service certification, or willing to obtain
- Genuine interest in small-town living; candidates relocating from larger markets welcome
Why This Role
A beloved, profitable restaurant with close ownership involvement, in a community known for outdoor recreation, arts, and a strong sense of place. Relocation and housing assistance ease the move, and the role offers a direct view into how a successful independent operates, a strong step for a manager building toward a General Manager seat.
