Key Responsibilities

Menu Development & Innovation

  • Design and execute seasonal menus showcasing Virginia's finest local ingredients
  • Create signature dishes that reflect our farm-to-table philosophy
  • Develop daily specials based on fresh, available seasonal produce

Sourcing & Vendor Relations

  • Build and maintain relationships with local farms, producers, and suppliers
  • Negotiate pricing and establish consistent supply chains for quality ingredients
  • Conduct regular farm visits to ensure ingredient quality and sustainability practices

Kitchen Leadership & Operations

  • Lead and mentor a team of 8-12 culinary professionals
  • Oversee all kitchen operations, ensuring efficiency and consistency
  • Maintain food safety standards and HACCP compliance
  • Manage food costs, inventory, and waste reduction initiatives

Quality & Standards Management

  • Ensure every dish meets our elevated culinary standards
  • Implement quality control procedures across all kitchen stations
  • Maintain consistency in presentation and flavor profiles

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of executive chef experience in upscale dining establishments
  • Proven track record with farm-to-table or sustainable cuisine concepts
  • Culinary degree or equivalent professional training
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing culinary teams
  • Knowledge of local Virginia agriculture and seasonal ingredient availability
  • ServSafe certification and comprehensive food safety knowledge
