Sous Chef Responsibilities

As a Sous Chef, you will play a key leadership role in daily kitchen operations while maintaining exceptional culinary standards:

  • Support the Executive Chef in executing seasonal, chef-driven menus
  • Lead, train, and mentor kitchen staff to ensure consistency and performance
  • Manage inventory, ordering, and food cost controls
  • Maintain high standards in food quality, plating, and presentation
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards
  • Drive efficiency in a high-volume, upscale dining kitchen

Sous Chef Qualifications

We are seeking a hands-on culinary leader with a passion for excellence:

  • 3+ years of experience as a Sous Chef or in a fine dining / upscale restaurant kitchen
  • Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams
  • Strong knowledge of scratch cooking, food cost management, and kitchen operations
  • Experience with seasonal menus and premium ingredients
  • Culinary degree preferred, but not required
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment
