We are seeking a talented and dedicated Sous Chef to join our kitchen team and assist in overseeing daily kitchen operations. As the Sous Chef, you will support the Executive Chef in managing the kitchen, ensuring the consistent preparation of top-notch food, and leading the kitchen staff in the absence of the Executive Chef.

As the Sous Chef, you will support the Executive Chef in managing the kitchen, ensuring the consistent preparation of top-notch food, and leading the kitchen staff in the absence of the Executive Chef.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Executive Chef in overseeing kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating to ensure quality and consistency.
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high standards of food preparation and presentation.
- Ensure that all dishes are prepared in accordance with recipes, presentation standards, and company guidelines.
- Maintain inventory levels of ingredients, ensuring proper storage, rotation, and ordering of supplies.
- Enforce health and safety standards in the kitchen, ensuring compliance with sanitation, food safety, and OSHA regulations.
- Assist in menu development, including seasonal updates, special offerings, and food cost management.
- Monitor kitchen performance during service to ensure food is being prepared and served in a timely and efficient manner.
- Assist in staff scheduling, ensuring the kitchen is appropriately staffed during peak times.
- Handle food quality control, ensuring consistency and timely delivery of all menu items.
- Step in to manage kitchen operations in the absence of the Executive Chef, ensuring smooth service and decision-making.
- Assist with training new kitchen staff on proper procedures, techniques, and safety standards.
- Address and resolve any kitchen-related issues, including equipment malfunctions, food quality concerns, or staff challenges.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef, Chef de Partie, or in a similar culinary role in a high-volume kitchen environment.
- Strong culinary knowledge and expertise in various cooking techniques, kitchen management, and food safety.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, high-stress environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Ability to manage inventory and control food costs while maintaining quality standards.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; culinary degree or certification preferred.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for long periods and work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform tasks that require bending, stretching, and lifting.
