Role Overview
As an Assistant General Manager, you will play a crucial role in the daily operations of our restaurant. You will work closely with the General Manager to uphold our commitment to quality, manage a talented team, and ensure smooth restaurant operations. Your leadership will help drive our mission of providing guests with a welcoming and memorable dining experience.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Management
- Oversee daily restaurant operations, including scheduling, shift management, and decision-making to ensure consistent service excellence.
- Support food and beverage inventory processes, placing emphasis on maintaining cost-efficiency, availability, and our focus on local sourcing.
- Assist in managing our beverage program, including wine selection and house-infused spirits, in alignment with brand standards.
- Address guest concerns swiftly and effectively, turning challenges into opportunities for exceptional service.
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead a team of dedicated hospitality professionals by establishing and maintaining high workplace standards.
- Manage recruitment, orientation, and training for hourly team members, ensuring they are set up for success.
- Provide regular feedback, coaching, and performance evaluations to foster growth and encourage team collaboration.
- Develop staffing plans to ensure optimal coverage during all shifts, including nights and weekends.
Culinary Collaboration
- Work closely with the culinary team to innovate menu offerings that highlight locally sourced ingredients.
- Contribute to a vibrant dining atmosphere that reflects our restaurant’s identity and values.
Financial Oversight
- Assist the General Manager in financial reporting, cost optimization, and operational planning.
- Help achieve revenue goals by adhering to company standards for food, beverage, labor, and supply costs.
Safety & Community Engagement
- Ensure compliance with food safety, alcohol service, and health regulations to maintain a safe environment for guests and staff.
- Promote team accountability in adhering to company policies and procedures.
- Actively engage with the local community to strengthen the restaurant’s presence and community relationships.
- Develop and execute local marketing initiatives in collaboration with the General Manager.
Qualifications
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in hotel/restaurant management or related field, or a combination of education and practical experience.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a high-volume, high-quality restaurant or bar.
- Proficiency in technology, including MS Word, Excel, and POS systems.
- Strong skills in personnel management, scheduling, and operations.
- Availability for nights and weekends.
