Position Overview

The Director of Sales & Marketing is a critical leadership role responsible for driving revenue growth, enhancing brand visibility, and delivering superior guest experiences for a Marriott brand hotel. This role requires strategic vision, exceptional leadership skills, and a deep understanding of the hospitality industry to achieve targeted sales and marketing objectives.


Key Responsibilities

  • Sales Leadership: Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to achieve revenue goals across all market segments, including group, corporate, leisure, and transient.
  • Marketing Strategy: Design and execute innovative marketing campaigns to expand brand reach, promote events, and increase occupancy rates, leveraging digital platforms, traditional media, and Marriott’s global marketing resources.
  • Team Development: Lead and mentor the sales and marketing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous development to maximize performance and achieve organizational goals.
  • Revenue Management: Collaborate with the revenue management team to align strategies and optimize pricing, distribution, and inventory to maximize profitability.
  • Client Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders to promote the hotel’s offerings and secure high-value contracts.
  • Brand Standards: Champion Marriott brand standards and ensure all marketing and promotional activities align with the company’s branding and values.
  • Event Planning Support: Partner with the events team to market and execute memorable meetings, conferences, and other group bookings that align with the property’s capabilities.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct ongoing market research to identify trends, evaluate competition, and uncover new opportunities to drive competitive advantage.


Qualifications

  • Proven experience in sales and marketing leadership roles within the hospitality industry, preferably with Marriott or a comparable global hotel brand.
  • Strong knowledge of hotel revenue management strategies, market segmentation, and digital marketing tools.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to build strong client relationships and lead diverse teams.
  • Results-driven mindset with a focus on innovative approaches and solutions to drive revenue growth and market share.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hospitality Management, or a related field; advanced degree or Marriott-specific certifications are a plus.
