We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to join our leadership team and champion this culture.
Position Summary
The Human Resources Manager is a pivotal leadership role responsible for directing and managing all facets of the Human Resources department. This individual will serve as a strategic partner to the management team, ensuring the resort attracts, develops, and retains top-tier talent. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader dedicated to fostering a positive, compliant, and high-performance work environment that reflects our luxury brand standards. You will be instrumental in shaping an employee’s experience that mirrors the exceptional service we provide to our guests.
Responsibilities
- Talent Acquisition & Recruitment: Oversee the full recruitment lifecycle for all property positions, from sourcing and interviewing to hiring and onboarding. Develop innovative strategies to attract high-caliber candidates in a competitive market, ensuring a pipeline of talent that aligns with our service culture.
- Employee Relations: Act as a trusted advisor to both management and staff, addressing employee concerns, grievances, and conflicts with professionalism and discretion. Guide and implement disciplinary actions when necessary, ensuring fairness and consistency.
- Training & Development: Identify training needs and develop comprehensive programs that enhance employee skills, promote career growth, and reinforce our luxury service standards. Facilitate leadership development and ensure all team members are equipped for success.
- Compensation & Benefits: Administer and manage employee compensation, benefits, and leave programs. Conduct regular market analysis to ensure our total rewards package remains competitive and effective in attracting and retaining employees.
- Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure the resort's full compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Maintain and update the employee handbook, policies, and procedures. Manage workers' compensation claims and oversee safety initiatives.
- Performance Management: Lead the annual performance review process, providing managers with the tools and training needed to conduct effective evaluations. Foster a culture of continuous feedback and accountability.
- Culture & Engagement: Champion initiatives that promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture. Develop and execute employee engagement programs, recognition events, and communication strategies to strengthen morale and team cohesion.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field. SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification is highly preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of progressive Human Resources experience, with at least 2 years in a management role.
- Demonstrated experience in the hospitality industry is required; experience within a luxury hotel or independent resort environment is strongly preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of federal and Vermont state employment laws and regulations.
- Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with the utmost integrity.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to problem-solving and program implementation.
- Proficiency with HRIS and payroll systems.
