Overview
A high volume fine dining restaurant in San Diego is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead all aspects of operations. This is a high profile leadership role within a polished, fast paced environment where guest expectations, service standards, and operational execution must remain strong at all times.
The ideal candidate brings a proven background leading upscale or fine dining restaurants with significant volume. This individual must be highly professional, detail oriented, financially strong, and confident leading from the floor while building a culture of accountability, hospitality, and consistency.

Position Overview
The General Manager is responsible for overall restaurant performance including service execution, team leadership, guest satisfaction, financial results, and day to day operations.
This role requires a hands on operator who can lead in a high volume environment, maintain standards across every part of the business, and develop a strong leadership team that can execute consistently.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
Lead daily operations with strong floor presence
Maintain excellence in service, hospitality, cleanliness, pacing, and presentation
Ensure consistency across all shifts and service periods
Oversee dining room flow and service execution during peak periods
Financial Performance
Drive sales and overall profitability
Manage labor, cost controls, and operating expenses
Use daily operations to influence financial performance
Maintain strong understanding of P and L
Team Leadership and Development
Recruit, train, and develop managers and team members
Create a culture of accountability, professionalism, and growth
Provide clear and consistent feedback
Build a strong internal leadership bench
Guest Experience
Maintain a high level of hospitality and guest engagement
Handle guest concerns quickly and professionally
Build relationships with regular and new guests
Protect the reputation of the restaurant through consistent execution
Standards and Execution
Maintain discipline across all operational details including service, cleanliness, and presentation
Identify issues early and correct them quickly
Hold the team accountable to high standards
Lead by example in professionalism and urgency
Qualifications
Experience as a General Manager in high volume fine dining or upscale restaurant required
Strong P and L and operational management skills
Proven ability to lead large teams in fast paced environments
Strong communication and leadership skills
Highly professional with polished presentation
Ability to perform under pressure and maintain composure
Preferred Background
Experience in fine dining or chef driven concepts preferred
Background in high revenue restaurants with demanding service standards
Experience developing managers and building leadership teams
