This is a full-time, on-site position. The Catering Event Manager role requires a flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends, holidays, and weeks exceeding 40 hours. There is no remote or hybrid option for this role.
Position Overview
The Catering Event Manager in Providence, RI is an event detailing role at its core. Once a client is secured by the sales team, the Catering Event Manager is introduced as the primary point of contact for all planning and execution details. Working in close partnership with operations teams, this individual manages every phase of the event from initial planning through post-event follow-up, ensuring a seamless and exceptional experience for every client.
The base salary ranges from $50,000 to $60,000, with a 1% commission on the actualized event subtotal, paid out quarterly. The on-target earnings (OTE) for this position are $75,000 to $80,000 annually.
Job Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in event management, catering, or hospitality operations
- Proven track record in detailing and executing large-scale events, including plated dinners, buffet-style functions, ceremonies, and corporate gatherings
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously
- Proficiency with event management software, POS systems, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships from planning through execution
- Comfortable collaborating across departments, including culinary, service, and operations teams
- Flexible availability for evenings, weekends, holidays, and schedules exceeding 40 hours per week
- Polished professional presence with the ability to represent the brand at the highest level
Job Responsibilities
As the Catering Event Manager in Providence, RI, you will:
