Schedule: Full-time; late-night, weekend, and closing availability required
Position Overview
A well-established, high-volume hospitality group is seeking a dynamic Assistant General Manager to support operations across two upscale, nightlife-driven restaurant concepts in the Greater Los Angeles area. This role will have a strong focus on late-night service, bar-driven revenue, guest experience, and overall floor leadership.
The ideal candidate will bring energy, confidence, creativity, and operational discipline to a polished restaurant environment. This position is best suited for an emerging hospitality leader who understands the importance of both service execution and creating a vibrant guest experience during peak evening and late-night business.
This is a hands-on leadership role with visibility to senior operations leadership and meaningful opportunity for growth within the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead evening, late-night, and closing shifts with a strong, visible floor presence.
- Support operations across two restaurant concepts, with emphasis on one primary location and additional closing shifts at a nearby sister concept.
- Partner with senior operations leadership and on-site management to drive service standards, team accountability, guest satisfaction, and revenue performance.
- Help elevate the late-night guest experience through strong leadership, beverage knowledge, floor presence, and creative input.
- Bring forward ideas related to beverage offerings, music, guest engagement, programming, service flow, menu opportunities, and local hospitality trends.
- Maintain a strong understanding of both food and beverage operations, with particular strength in bar, cocktails, nightlife, and high-energy guest environments.
- Monitor service execution, check averages, guest flow, labor, team performance, and overall shift profitability.
- Coach, motivate, and hold team members accountable in a professional and constructive manner.
- Support training, development, and retention of front-of-house staff.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, alcohol service standards, safety procedures, and local regulations.
- Communicate effectively with senior leadership, management teams, and hourly staff.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is a polished, high-potential restaurant leader with strong beverage knowledge, late-night service experience, and the confidence to contribute ideas in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
This person should enjoy being on the floor, engaging with guests, motivating teams, and helping drive the energy of the room. They should be comfortable working late nights, leading closing shifts, and supporting a bar-forward restaurant environment without being limited to bar operations alone.
A successful candidate will bring a balance of professionalism, personality, grit, creativity, and accountability. They should respect existing leadership structures while also being confident enough to offer fresh ideas, challenge complacency, and help the business continue to evolve.
Desired Background
- Experience as an Assistant General Manager, Restaurant Manager, Bar Manager, Service Manager, or similar leadership role.
- Background in upscale casual, polished casual, rooftop, lounge, nightlife, chef-driven, or high-volume restaurant environments preferred.
- Strong beverage, cocktail, wine, spirits, or bar-forward restaurant experience strongly preferred.
- Food service management experience required; this is not a bar-only role.
- Experience leading late-night, dinner, lounge, or closing shifts.
- Strong guest presence and the ability to command a room professionally.
- Stable work history with demonstrated progression and commitment.
- Ability to bring ideas, solutions, and energy to an established operation.
- Comfortable working late nights, weekends, holidays, and peak business periods.
Leadership Expectations
This role requires someone who is not simply looking to maintain the status quo. The company is seeking a leader who can help strengthen late-night execution, enhance the guest experience, contribute creative food and beverage ideas, and bring consistent accountability to the floor.
The right person will be motivated to grow, open to feedback, and comfortable working in a performance-driven environment. This role is designed for someone who wants to build a long-term career with a respected hospitality group and has the potential to grow into larger leadership responsibilities.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of restaurant management experience preferred.
- Experience in high-volume, bar-forward, nightlife, lounge, rooftop, or polished restaurant environments strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of front-of-house operations, beverage service, guest relations, and team leadership.
- Ability to analyze service performance, check averages, labor, and shift execution.
- Professional, confident, polished, and guest-focused leadership style.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining alignment with senior leadership.
- Must be available for late-night closing shifts, weekends, and a flexible multi-location schedule.
