Job Description

Finance Manager

Midway, UT | $75K–$85K | On-Site

About the Resort

Tucked away in the mountains of Midway, Utah, our resort is one of those places people stumble upon and never forget. It's a genuine hidden gem, quiet, scenic, and full of character, without the crowds you'd expect from a destination this beautiful. Behind the scenery sits a well-run operation that takes its numbers as seriously as its guest experience. That's where you come in.

The Role

We're looking for a detail-oriented, analytical Finance Manager to take ownership of the financial engine that keeps this resort running smoothly. This is a finance-first role. You'll live in the reports, the reconciliations, the forecasts, and the ledgers. You'll oversee accounting functions, financial reporting, budgeting, cash management, and internal controls, all while keeping us compliant with company policies and financial regulations. You'll also partner closely with department leaders to support both day-to-day operations and bigger-picture strategic goals. If you love bringing order and clarity to the numbers, you'll feel right at home here.

What You'll Do

  • Prepare and review monthly financial statements, reports, and account reconciliations.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
  • Monitor cash flow, bank reconciliations, and daily financial activity.
  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze financial performance and recommend ways to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
  • Assist with audits, tax reporting, and year-end financial processes.
  • Support payroll, purchasing, and inventory control procedures as needed.
  • Maintain internal controls and safeguard company assets.
  • Collaborate with department managers to monitor expenses and budget performance.
  • Support the Director of Finance and executive team with special projects and financial analysis.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of three to five years of accounting or finance experience.
  • Hospitality, hotel, or resort accounting experience required,
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial management systems.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours when necessary to support business needs.

A Note on Scheduling

The resort operates seven days a week, so occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays come with the territory to support both operational and financial demands. All employees, management and hourly alike, understand that schedules sometimes shift to meet business needs.

How to Apply

If this sounds like the right fit for your next chapter, I'd love to hear from you. Send your resume to Danielle@geckohospitality.com and let's talk.
